Calgary Hash House Harriers

The Calgary Hash House Harriers (CH3) is proud to be Canada’s oldest hash!

Hashing is a non-competitive cross-country run through varied terrain. Hashing is to competitive running what slo-pitch is to major league baseball. If you enjoy good times and a few (or many, many) cold beers you’re hasher material.

Joining CH3 is easy… just show up at our next run! We are always looking for new members who just wanna have fun.

Calgary has three active local hashes

Calgary Hash House Harriers

Join us for some weekly beers runs!

  • Runs: Monday nights at 7 p.m.
  • Cost: $5 hash cash (doesn’t include beer)

  • Runs: Monthly on full moons
  • Cost: varies per run

Rocky Mountain Hash House Harriers

These hashers run in the Calgary area (within a 90 minute drive). Trails are 50 to 90 minutes long, in the woods and mountains, preferably with a beer stop on the way.

  • Runs: Bi-weekly Saturday afternoons in Feb. (cross-country ski theme) & April to Nov.
  • Cost: $5 hash cash (includes orange food and Big Rock beer)

History of CH3

Hashing has a colourful history. In 1938, British ex-pats founded the “Mother Hash” in Kuala Lumpur. Today there are thousands of hashes around the world. You will find at least one hash in pretty much every major city on the planet.

The Calgary Hash House Harriers were started in 1983 by a group of accountants. CH3 has continued to grow and evolve and are proud to say, we still have an OG hasher in the group from the original run.
